Dai-Sempai Christian A. Stewart-Ferrer

Christian FerrerChristian A. Stewart-Ferrer, 3rd dan, is an Italian-Scottish Dane and the Dai-Sempai (senior student) and fuku-dojo-cho (vice-principal) of Reishin Dojo. Christian Dai-Sempai has been studying Aikido for 18 years - the initial twelve years in Copenhagen, where he also taught Aikido until moving to Odense in 2003.

  • - 1991: Karate studies (full contact) for three and a half years at the Kyokushinkai Copenhagen Dojo (Kyokushinkai København).
  • 1991-2003: Aikido (Aikikai) studies at the Bosatsu Dojo in Copenhagen with Sensei Leif Lynggaard Nielsen (6th dan) - a direct student for five years of the Founder's son, Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba. Studied reflexology with his Sensei. Graded 1st dan in 1994 by Sensei Leif Lynggaard Nielsen, subsequently becoming an Aikido instructor at the Bosatsu Dojo. 
  • 1999: Graded 2nd dan by Shihan Shoji Nishio (8th dan).
  • 1991-1993: Iaido and Kenjutsu studies - the Omori Ryu (Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu) - at the Bosatsu Dojo.
  • 1992-2002: T'ai Chi (Beijing, Yang and Chen styles) studies in the traditional Chinese way with his father, Shīfu José M. Stewart-Ferrer, in Copenhagen. Received his instructor's licence in 1995, subsequently beginning to teach T'ai Chi at the Bagsvaerd Boarding School and College. Studied Reiki with his Shīfu.
  • 1994: Pilgrimage to Japan, including Aikido studies at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo.
  • 1995: Co-founded the Aikido classes at the Hvidovre Judo and Jiu-Jitsu Club - classes still in operation.
  • 1995-1998: Fortified his Aikikai Aikido studies with simultaneous studies of Ki Aikido (Shin Shin To Itsu) at the Ki and Aikido Dojo in Copenhagen, as well as at the Ki and Aikido Dojo in Elsinore, which he co-founded. Jamborees with Shihan Kenjiro Yoshigasaki (7th dan).
  • 2003: Aikido studies at the Odense Aikido Club.
  • 2003-2004: Kendo studies at the Odense Kendo Club.
  • 2004-2005: Daito-Ryu Aiki-Jujutsu (Roppokai) studies at the Kodokan Odense. Jamborees with Shihan Seigo Okamoto (8th dan).
  • 2005 - : After two years of integration in Odense, Christian Dai-Sempai arrived at Reishin Dojo, where he has been studying ever since: "It was like returning home!" Jamborees with i.a. Shihan Reishin Kawai (8th dan), and Shihan Hayato Osawa (7th dan).
  • 2009: Graded 3rd dan by Sensei Victor M. Merea Ortega (5th dan).
  • 2010: Aikido sojourn in Japan with Victor Sensei (at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo, Tokyo); studies with Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba.
